Classes start Monday, January 5 at 8:55am. Weather will continue to be cold, so leave extra time and bundle up!  As always, if your teen needs some cold weather gear, please reach out to your mentor. 

Hopefullly your family had a restful and fun break.  We have a busy few weeks ahead finishing up Semester 1. 

Attendance Matters

There are 15 days of learning left in Semester 1.  Teachers will be finishing up final units and assessments over the next few weeks.  Attendance remains the single most important determinant of success for students.  We ask our students to commit to at least 80% attendance.  Engagement in learning and successful demonstration of knowledge and skills depend on consistent attendance.  Even if students are late, there is great benefit in getting to school and to class when they can, as opposed to missing the day.  Students will always have to make up what they miss, which can cause anxiety.  Please connect with your child's mentor, or call the office if they are going to be late, absent, or need to leave early. 

January 23 is the last day of classes for Semester 1.  Teachers will set due dates in their courses for assessments based on allowing time for feedback.  Teacher will post due dates in PowerSchool.  As it is the end of the semester and final grades have to be assigned by January 26, teachers will not accept work after January 23 at the latest.  

Post Secondary Lunch and Learn 

All grade 11 and 12 students are welcome to attend these sessions.  Students who are not in the classes where the post-secondary is being shared can negotiate missing their class to attend, or meet with the representative over lunch. Grade 10s can connect with post-secondary representatives during the lunch break.

Grad Photo Sign Up

Graduation photos are scheduled for January 21-23, 2026. Students can sign up for a sitting using this link: Edge Imaging | Booking Your Appointment. Students do NOT need to pay for a sitting if they simply want a picture for the Graduate Composite. 

Information about grad can be found on our website. Students also have access to a D2L shell where information is shared regularly.
