We had such a beautiful day on Friday celebrating our graduating class.  Graduation Celebration reminds us of why our community and the Circle are so important.  One attendee commented that the "love in the room was palpable and it is so clear that each student is known".  We are so proud of our grads!

We have a busy week this week.  Students have 7 instructional days left to finish up their learning.  Most assessments are taking place during those class times, but diploma exams are set by Alberta Education.  Please review the rules for Diploma Exams  and the June Assessment schedule to ensure you know when your teen is writing their exams. Diploma Exams have no flexibility.

Phys. Ed. is going swimming on June 8.  Paperwork went home Thursday.

We also have a community day and a celebration day this week.  Friday will be regular classes with some fun games and treats during mentor.

Theatre Calgary Community Day, Wednesday, June 3

We are currently planning a school off-site activity to Theatre Calgary to watch “Come From Away”. This field trip will occur on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10:15am to 2:15pm.  The students will be transported to and from the event by chartered bus. The bus will leave Alternative High School at 10:15am. Lunch is not provided on this trip and there may not be time to purchase a lunch, so please make sure that your child brings a lunch on that day.

The Parent Letter and Acknowledgement of Risk came home last week, or you can download below.  Please sign and return the Acknowledgement of Risk by Monday, June 1 so we can confirm numbers. Participation in Community Days is generally not optional. There is no fee for this trip as it is sponsored by our generous Parent Association.  Students who commit to attending by returning paperwork and who subsequently do not attend may be charged a fee to cover non-refundable ticket costs.

Handshake Pictures for Grads

Thank you to Edge Imaging for marking our special day on Friday with a picture of each graduate as they cross the stage.  Parents can sign up to be notified when the pictures are ready by going to this link

Each graduate received a folio with a certificate inside at grad.  The official diploma will arrive in the mail from Alberta Education once all courses and exams are completed.  Students have signed up for MyPass and can monitor their results there.  Diploma marks are usually uploaded and achievement recorded by the third week in July.

Have a great week Alti!
