Friday was our last circle of the year.  Students did a beautiful job of offering kindness and gratitude to their friends and the community for their experiences at Alti.

Just over 90 students attended Come From Away at Theatre Calgary.  As always, our students were commended for their excellent behaviour, and they really enjoyed the play.

Assessment Week

Access the June Assessment Schedule on our website, or download it  here .

Monday and Tuesday are mega block days.

Monday will include Period 1 all morning and Period 3 all afternoon.  Tuesday will include Period 2 all morning and Period 4 all afternoon. ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND ON THESE DAYS.

Mega Blocks are opportunities for students to have focused, longer blocks in order to complete final assessments, finish up course or project work and to prepare for finals and diplomas.  CT Centre and Central Memorial have the same timetable, and students should attend their CT Centre courses during megablock.

Diploma Exams

June 10 & 11 at 9:00am are Diploma Exam days for Part A ELA and Social Studies (written).  Only students in these courses should attend on these days.  Many of our staff will be involved in supervising diploma exams, so students not writing should make arrangements with teachers before coming to school.

Diploma exams schedules are set by Alberta Education and are not flexible.  Students must write on the scheduled day.  If a student has a medical reason for missing an exam, they will need to provide specific documentation from their doctor and will be required to write the exam at the next writing in April or June.  Please contact the school if your child is sick on a diploma exam day.

Please also note that ELA and Social Studies have Part B (multiple choice) exams scheduled for June 15 & 16.

Math 30 Diploma Exams are Friday, June 12 at 9:00am. Biology 30 is June 18 at 9:00am

Diploma Exam rules

Students writing diploma exams should be aware of the rules set by Alberta Education, including that they will not be allowed any personal devices (such as phones, airpods, smart watches etc) in the exam room. They also must arrive no later than 10:00am on exam day.  These rules can be reviewed on the Alberta Education website.  Teachers have spent time in classes preparing students for these exams, and all students have had an opportunity to practice.
