Hopefully your family found some fun and respite over the Fall Break.  We had such a beautiful end to our week with our student-led Remembrance Day and Completion Day.  Our students embraced Belonging, Generosity and Mastery. Thank you to everyone for their thoughtful participation.

Classes Resume Thursday, Nov. 13

We are back in class tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 13.  Students should be focused on current learning after completion day, meaning that they should be in class, engaged in tasks and assessments that are new.  The cancellation of diploma exams in January mean we now have 2 extra weeks of instruction.  The last day of regular classes will now be January 23.

Students in diploma exam courses will automatically be exempted from their exams.  If there is an instance where students need to write the exam, they should talk to Principal Tracy and we can make arrangements for April or June.

Winter Plant Fundraiser

Our annual plant fundraiser has started!  Growing Smiles plants are high quality and affordable, and the proceeds go to support student initiatives in our school.  Please consider purchasing your winter greenery through our fundraising website. Delivery will be Dec. 4 to Alternative High School.  Please share this opportunity with friends and family.

Trickster Theatre Residency Nov. 17 - 21 Whole School

Starting on Monday, Nov. 17 our students will break into six different performance groups to explore movement, dialogue and themes to create a story and performance under the guidance of a trickster artist.  These workshops are inclusive and there is a role for everyone, even our most reserved students.  There will be a performance of all six pieces on Friday, Nov. 21 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.  We invite all community members to join us in celebrating the work of our students.

in order to minimize the loss of instructional time, the week will be broken into mega-blocks.  Monday and Wednesday will be period 1 all morning and period 3 all afternoon.  Tuesday and Thursday will be period 2 all morning and period 4 all afternoon.  Students will only miss each of their courses once during the week. Students who have CT Centre classes will have to miss parts of the workshops to attend their classes each day.  A schedule will be posted on our website on the Extra Curricular page.
