Winter has arrived!
As the days get shorter (and darker), please make sure your teen has warm clothes and boots. Remember that we are an All In For Youth school, so we can support if your teen needs a winter jacket, boots or mitts and a toque. Reach out to your mentor.
Sometimes with weather, getting to school is a challenge. We are always happy to see our students, no matter what time they arrive, even if they are late.
Term 1 Report Cards November 9
Marks will be turned off this week so teachers can input grades and comments.
Term 1 ends on Oct. 30. Only a few of our courses are single term, 3 credit, but for those that are, a final grade for those students will be calculated based on work completed by Oct. 30. Students in semester-long courses will also receive a mid-term grade and comment based on work completed by Oct. 30. It is important for students to stay current in their learning. Reach out to your mentor if you have questions.
Spirit Week Oct. 26 - Oct. 30
Students will have the opportunity to participate in Spirit Week leading up to Halloween. Our Student Voice has chosen themes for each day. Monday starts with a theme chosen by each mentor group. Students can ask their student voice rep, or find one of the posters around the school and take a picture.
Alti Parent Association Casino November 9 & 10
Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Casino - Monday, November 9 & Tuesday, November 10, 2026 @ Elbow River Casino (218 18 Ave SE)
We just need a few more volunteers for our Parents Association Casino Fundraiser. This event gives us the opportunity to receive an average of $60,000 to $80,000 to go directly to enriching our students experience at Alti. It goes towards, laptops, field trips, workshops, supplies for ALL classes, running our school bus, and keeps parents from having extra fees for these enriching activities and supplies.
The Casino Newsletter explains in more detail the event and the volunteer roles we need filled.
Each shift includes a meal, and free snacks and drinks from a food allocation provided by the casino, and there is free parking on-site.
