Community Day Oct. 2 @ Camp Riveredge
We are very excited about our first Community Day on October 2! Your child should have brought home paperwork for our Community Day at Camp Riveredge on October 3. Community days are an important part of building relationships and belonging in our community. There are a wide variety of activities to choose from, and all students are expected to participate. Paperwork must be returned to mentors by Thurs. Sept. 24 Please reach out to your mentor if you have questions.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Wednesday, Sept. 30
As we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, starting on Tuesday, Sept. 22 in Mentor, we will spend some time learning more about residential schools, Indigenous culture and music, the history of Orange Shirt Day, and each student will be making their own pledge to action.
Each year our staff makes a commitment to Truth and Reconili-ACTION. You can find our pledge for last year on our website on the Our School page. This year we will be including student voice in our pledge. Watch for the updated commitment by October 2 on our website.

School Council & Parent Society Casino November 9 & 10
In the spirit of Generosity thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Meet the Teacher on Tuesday night, and especially to everyone who stayed after for our School/Parent Council meeting. Parents are important partners in learning and supporting our school. We will be looking to fill a few key position on Parent Society especially. Reach out to Principal Tracy if you are interested and couldn't make the meeting (tadalton@cbe.ab.ca).
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: This group of parents hosts a casino every two years that funds many of the enrichment opportunties for our students and allows us to keep our fees low. Watch for an email to sign up to volunteer at the casino. The required paperwork will be available in person at the school or attached to that email.
Attendance Matters
In the spirit of Mastery, learning is underway in earnest now. Attendance remains the single most important determinant of success for students. We ask our students to commit to at least 80% attendance. Engagement in learning and successful demonstration of knowledge depend on consistent attendance. Even if students are late, there is great benefit in getting to school and to class when they can, as opposed to missing the day. Students will always have to make up what they miss, which can cause anxiety. Please connect with your child's mentor, or call the office if they are going to be late, absent, or need to leave early.
