First Day
Back to School information can be found on our website. School starts on Monday, August 31 at 8:50am (new start time).
In the spirit of Belonging, our first day together will include extra time in your mentor groups and getting to know your peers and teachers. Come prepared with something to write with and something to write on. Bring a re-usable cup. We will have a pizza lunch for students, but you may want to bring a lunch and healthy snacks if you have food aversions or allergies.
We have school supplies and backpacks if students need. Students can connect with (hallway) Tracey James for more information.
First Week Activities
Students will be engaging in learning in their classes starting on Monday. If weather permits, they may go outside during class time. Please find attached a letter outlining the school policy on walking field trips.
Transportation and Bus Passes
Parents are responsible for arranging transportation to and from Alternative High School. Many of our students take Calgary Transit each day. Calgary Transit offers Fair Entry passes for families who may need support to buy a bus pass. The Calgary Board of Education can support students with a bus pass while they are applying for Fair Entry. Students can ask Tracey James for more information, or parents can reach out to their child's mentor.
